A Wedding is Coming Winter Ice Fantasy Wedding Invitation Suite – GoT inspired

Game of Thrones inspired winter fantasy wedding invitationIf you’re anything like me, you were glued to your TV last night watching the first episode of the final season of Game of Thrones. We’ve had a long, hard wait for this final season so I plan on enjoying every minute of it.

I really will hate to see it come to an end. I know there are a LOT of die-hard fans of the show. Inspired by its popularity and the final season, I decided to dedicate a new wedding invitation suite to anyone wanting to have a winter fantasy type wedding or Game of Thrones theme wedding.

Funny Game of Thrones wedding party photo

Due to copyright laws, designing anything that uses trademarked elements from the show is not allowed, plus I wanted something a little more subtle that wasn’t too over-the-top GoT. In past seasons it was all about “winter is coming”, but this season is all about “winter is here” so I wanted to design something that evoked that winter and icy feeling but still had elements of fantasy and Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones wedding decor

Game of Thrones Cake topperFor the wedding invitation, I thought a nice play on words from “Winter is Coming” to “A Wedding is Coming” in the GoT font would be a great starting point.

The watercolors design has a foggy and snowy winter forest scene with assorted trees and red berries on it, with the main design elements being the head of a raven on the right side and a messenger crow on the left side with a paper scroll hanging from its beak, presumably to announce the upcoming wedding, but perhaps it has a different message to relay to your guests. There are large gray-blue snowflakes to lend a frosty feel to everything.

The back of the winter fantasy wedding invitation shows a nighttime winter scene, complete with snow-covered mountains and several more flying crows. The wording uses gray and red lettering and can be changed to say whatever you want it to.

Game of Thrones wedding ideas

In this winter fantasy wedding invitation suite, I also designed a save our date card, a response card, two different mailing labels, and a folded thank you card.

All the pieces contain the winter elements and main design features of the raven and crow.

I’d be happy to design any additional pieces you might need, such as flat or folded place cards, a wedding program, menu, signage, favor stickers or tags, beverage bottle labels, or photo thank you cards with personalization.

Robin’s Egg Blue and White Wedding Invitation Collection

Tiffany inspired Robin's egg blue white ribbon jewel wedding invite set
Turquoise and white ribbon double heart jewel wedding invite set

Over the 9+ years that I’ve been designing wedding invitations and special occasion stationery suites, I have received numerous requests to make a color change to a certain shade of turquoise that is used on a famous blue jewelry box.

Tiffany blue box with white ribbon party favorsWhat most people don’t realize is that the shade of Robin’s egg blue that is recognizable the world over is actually trademarked by Tiffany & Co. and therefore protected from being copied.

It is such a pretty color that it is understandable why people want to use it as their wedding color. It’s also versatile enough to use throughout the whole year, paired with white or yellow for spring or summer weddings, or with gray, orange, or black for fall and winter weddings.

Many other colors also work with this shade of turquoise or teal blue. I’ve seen some lovely wedding photos that pair turquoise with purple, fuchsia, and lime green to name a few.

And of course turquoise blue will always work well for a tropical destination wedding because it also coordinates so well with sand and tan colors.

Tiffany blue winter wedding bridal party

Tiffany blue wedding decorationsI think that most brides that have requested the famous shade of aqua blue have wanted to use it as a whole wedding theme paired with white satin ribbons, and lots of sparkly bling to make everyone think of the high-end jewelry retailer.

So, with that in mind, I decided to try my hand at designing a wedding invitation suite in robin’s egg blue (light teal blue) and white that combines my style with the famous jewelry brand. I imagined planning a wedding using the turquoise color with white ribbon, romantic double hearts bling, and modern typography with a few elegant touches of ornate scrolls and flourishes.

One of the reasons that I hadn’t tackled it before was because of the printed on ribbon images I use. Getting the ribbon to still look like a ribbon instead of a white blob was a bit tricky as I still wanted to keep some of the highlights and shadows that exist on real ribbons. With much tweaking, I finally achieved a look that I’m very happy with and I hope you will be too.

2019 seems to be a big year for fairy tale weddings. I know at Lemon Leaf Prints we’ve seen a lot of couples buying very romantic wedding invitations that either has the joined hearts look as seen in this wedding collection, or they have been buying the storybook “Once Upon a Time” type of fairytale invitations.

Tiffany blue white wedding cakeIt warms my heart to think of these very happy couples starting out their new lives in such an “in-your-face” kind of way that represents their undying love for each other.

Can’t you just picture their wedding venue all decked out in turquoise blue and white with lots of sparkly lights and glittery jewels adorning the tables? I can. I think it would be quite breathtaking to walk into the reception hall and be greeted with all the blue and white tables, possibly with tall centerpieces with white flowers.

You can go as grand as you like or you can keep it simple and let the pure white and aqua blue colors speak for themselves and use dainty centerpieces and crisp linens to evoke a sense of modern sophistication instead of over-the-top luxury. Whatever your dream wedding looks like, carry your theme throughout all aspects of the wedding to give it all a well thought out cohesiveness that is sure to impress your guests.

Royal Blue and White Love Heart Wedding Invitation Suite

Royal Blue and White Floral Silver Heart Wedding Invitation Set
Royal Blue and White Floral Silver Heart Wedding Invitation Set
For as long as I have been designing wedding invitations, which is about nine years now, one color has been consistently requested year after year: royal blue. I can’t recall how many times I have been asked to change an existing design to use royal blue on it, usually with silver or white.

I had a request earlier this month to change an older existing royal blue and silver design of mine to be royal blue and white, so I decided that I would try to rework and update that older design for an exclusive new wedding suite on Lemon Leaf Prints. I have wanted to use the pretty heart design on a romantic invitation for quite some time now, so while I had updated the previous design that had only a single silver heart on it, I thought I would try to add some zing by making it look like a royal blue enamel heart was sitting in a silver brooch. I’m quite pleased with the result and I hope you are too.

Royal blue and white wedding decorWinter has come early where I live. We don’t usually have permanent snow until January, so it was a little depressing to have our first big snowfall in mid-November. All that snow prompted me to daydream of warm spring and summer days and bright, sunny weddings, which helped me to visualize a fresh spring or summer wedding in a royal blue and white color theme.

With this royal blue and white floral love heart wedding invitation suite, I wanted it to be bright and fresh with an overall modern and romantic feel to it. The wedding invitation uses a royal blue, light blue, and white color scheme, which is easily changeable to your custom color combinations if you are using a different color with the royal blue.

Royal blue bridesmaids dressesI based this design on several images from the Internet that had the bridesmaids wearing royal blue and light blue colors. With royal blue being fairly versatile in terms of using other complementary colors with it, the design can be changed to have yellow, orange, green, black, pink, red, or several others colors in place of the light blue.

The design has a floral pattern on the white area at the bottom of the invitation with a royal blue ribbon above the flowers. There is a simulated silver heart-shaped brooch sitting off-center on the left side of the ribbon and it has a simulated blue enamel look with hearts and flowers filigree shape insert on top.

The names of the bride and groom are in large white script on the top royal blue area and a modern ampersand symbol is below the names in light blue. The romantic and popular verse that says: “This day, I will marry my best friend, the one I live for, laugh with, dream with, love” is also in white below the names of the happy couple. A verse from the Bible or a different poem could also be printed there instead.

Royal blue white silver wedding cakeThe back of this royal blue and white wedding invitation has an abundance of blues, along with another filigree heart in white because I liked it so much. There is an outer light blue border with the large central rectangle shaped text box in royal blue with white edging and an inner ornate scroll frame and decorative scroll ornament that divides the main wedding invitation wording from the reception and/or RSVP information.

By putting some extra wedding information on the wedding invitation, such as the reception details or RSVP info, it’s a nice saving for you as you won’t need to purchase the separate enclosure card. More and more couples that I work with are opting to have the RSVP information on the wedding invitation when they don’t have meal selections for their guests to choose from.

The reception information can also be printed on the invitation, which is especially nice when the reception and ceremony are taking place at different locations. With the online sample, I used a ceremony and reception at the same venue, which many couples are choosing nowadays, so the wedding invitation has both the time of the reception and the RSVP details on it.

Burgundy Wine and Charcoal Gray Wedding Invitation Suite

I had a recent custom color request to change one of my designs to use burgundy instead of navy blue with one of my gray and white damask wedding invitations. That led me to do some searches online for burgundy and grey wedding color schemes, which led to me falling in love with those colors for a wedding, especially a late summer, fall or winter wedding.

I think the deep burgundy wine color, paired with charcoal grey and white is such a clean and crisp, sophisticated look with lots of good kind of drama. I love the look of the sharkskin gray men’s suits with burgundy ties and of course, argyle socks in burgundy and gray. I’ve even seen the groomsmen in burgundy suits with the bridesmaids in dark pewter grey bridesmaids dresses with burgundy floral bouquets and that looks great, too.

burgundy silver wedding cakeI designed this new burgundy wine and charcoal grey wedding invitation suite with modern elegance and sophistication in mind. The design uses a dark grey and white damask pattern that is always in style for a wedding. The main feature is the PRINTED ON deep burgundy wine ribbon and bow that sits near the bottom of the wedding invitation, or near the top of the mini calendar save the date card. There is a romantic simulated (printed on) burgundy glitter and jewel joined hearts accent in the middle of the bow. The area below the ribbon is a dark charcoal gray with white script writing that says: “This day, I will marry my best friend, the one I live for, laugh with, dream with, love”. The wording can say whatever you want as long as it will fit in the space. The main wording area is white with the wedding details printed in gray and burgundy. I’ve also added four burgundy corner flourishes and a small scroll divider to add a bit more oomph to the design.

Some people may also call the shade of burgundy I’ve used marsala, but that is more to do with Marsala wine than with the Pantone color of the year for 2015 also called Marsala, but which is more of a coppery brown shade than what I would call burgundy.

I’ve carried the printed on ribbon around to the backs of the invitation, RSVP card and Save the Date card because I like how that looks. I’m happy to add any additional wording to the backs of any of the pieces of this wedding suite, and a photo could also be added to the back of the invitation or the mini calendar save the date card if you would like to have that.

Burgundy floral centerpiece with gray standI came across a great DIY centerpiece tutorial for a pretty elegant looking burgundy floral centerpiece. I would look for planters that were the shape and size I wanted and then if they weren’t a nice silver or pewter already, I would spray paint them to go with my theme. So simple and yet so stylish!

One of the other great things about using burgundy in your wedding is how many shades of burgundy, maroon, and marsala there are that all work together, and they all look so great with shades of silver and grey. Succulents also look gorgeous with burgundy shades too, so adding them to centerpieces and bouquets can warm things up a bit if you find the burgundy and gray wedding color theme a bit on the cool side. Personally, I think it has such a contemporary, sophisticated look that it would work for many different weddings and budgets.

Purple Silver Wedding Invitation Set | Joined Hearts Jewel

Purple Silver Wedding Invitation Set - Joined Hearts Jewel
Purple Silver Wedding Invitation Set – Joined Hearts Jewel
There are so many possible wedding themes to choose from that it’s hard to pick a favorite, so in this post I will be focusing on an always popular color theme that can be used year-round – an elegant purple and silver wedding invitation set.

Elegant weddings are always in fashion and many people like to go very upscale with their once-in-a-lifetime wedding. Adding glitz and glamour to your wedding stationery and decor is so much easier to do now than just a short time ago. The Internet offers so many resources and shopping sites that you won’t have to look very hard to find everything you could possibly ever want to buy or DIY to create your perfectly glamorous, elegant wedding.

Purple Silver Joined Hearts Wedding Menu Favor TagsThe color purple has always been associated with nobility, royalty, and prestige. It can also symbolize mystery, magic, power, and luxury, so using it as one of your wedding colors is an excellent choice. A deep, rich shade of purple like the one shown in this wedding suite will add drama to your stationery and wedding decor. Metallics are also very popular elements to use for weddings, so pairing silver with the deep purple will create a truly breath-taking look.

I created this romantic and glamorous purple and silver wedding invitation suite using a simulated metallic purple look gradient over a simulated silver foil look border. I also added on a deep purple printed on ribbon with an image of a pair of diamond jewel and faux glitter joined hearts buckle brooch to add to the romance and elegance. The printed on purple colored ribbon takes all the fuss out of having to wrap and tie ribbons on yourself and it also allows you to have the look of embellished wedding invitations without the big price tag or all the mess from real glitter.

The front of the glitzy purple silver wedding invitation has the names of the bride and groom in an elegant cursive font. If you prefer, the names can go on the top portion and the bottom can have a Bible verse or a poem such as the popular verse “This day I will marry my best friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love”.

Purple Silver Joined Hearts Jewel Wedding Save the Date CardThe back of the glamorous purple silver wedding invitation has silver monogram detailing at the top, along with an ornate silver scroll frame. Depending on what wording you choose, there may be room to add on reception details and/or RSVP information which would cut down on enclosure cards, allowing you to possibly splurge on ice pearl paper and silver lustre envelopes to match. Or for a VERY upscale look, contact me about double thick papers which would be so gorgeous for this design!

Of course, if you do want to send out a full wedding stationery package with multiple enclosure cards, I created several different sized inserts that you can use for RSVP, accommodations, directions, etc. There are also matching address labels and envelope seals that you can use to dress up the envelopes with.

There are quite a number of matching pieces in this elegant purple and silver faux foil wedding suite, including favor tags and stickers, thank you cards, place cards, escort cards, and menu. I’d be happy to add any other items you might need, as well.

I also posted a photo wedding save the date card in this same purple and silver floral design which can be used for an engagement announcement or as a save the date card to announce your big day!
