Beautiful Burgundy Florals and Feathers Wedding Stationery Suite

Where I live on Canada’s east coast, we have had a very long, mild autumn, so the vivid fall colors have been outside my office window for an extended period of time, which is great because I do love the fall. I love it for lots of reasons, but most of all because it’s when I have the most time to create new designs.

autumn burgundy wedding flowersWith all the rich autumn colors, I felt like working on a new wedding suite that was rich in deep colors like burgundy, aubergine purple, marsala red, rust, olive green etc. I’ve been seeing so many gorgeous fall wedding bouquets that use those colors that I wanted to design something that had enough colors in it that the wedding color theme could have a variety of colors and warm tones in it instead of just one or two. I like how white contrasts with the deep colors, but I also wanted to make sure there was enough warmth to the suite so I added in a creamy butter yellow / ivory border with decorative simulated gold foil to make accessorizing the attendants and reception decor easy.

I’ve also seen the burgundy paired with silver and jade greens but I find them colder looking, which might suit a late fall wedding, but I wanted this set to be suitable for any season. I think the bold watercolor floral pattern is classic and sophisticated. With the mix of assorted purple, orange, and brown feathers, you can also lean towards a more Bohemian wedding theme if you wanted to go with a more wildflower and feather look.

burgundy pink rustic wedding bouquetThis great burgundy watercolor florals wedding invitation suite can be dressed up or dressed down depending on your taste and budget. Pull out all the stops and go full-on gold glamour with towering centerpieces filled with ivory, burgundy, aubergine, and red roses or peonies with feathers and greenery cascading down from them, or go with something looser like a wildflower bouquet with simple pops of burgundy and a gold ribbon.

You can choose soft and romantic bridesmaid dresses in pale yellow and then pick up the burgundy colors in their bouquets or do mix and match bridesmaid dresses in the various colors from the invitation. It is such a versatile invitation suite that you can really get creative with your wedding attendants attire, church and venue decorations, flowers, and even the cake. Add more or less gold, depending on how warm or glitzy you want things to look. I know I would have an absolute ball planning a wedding based on this burgundy floral wedding suite. I hope you do too!

I designed a number of coordinating pieces in the suite, including enclosure cards, address labels, thank you card, favor tags, stickers and envelope seals, place cards, and a wedding program. I’ll likely be adding more matching pieces, but if there is something specific that you want that you don’t see, drop me an email and I’ll be happy to make up what you need.

Royal Blue Gold Joined Hearts Jewel Wedding Invitation Set

Royal blue gold floral joined hearts jewel photo wedding invitation and reply card
Royal blue gold floral joined hearts jewel photo wedding invitation and reply card
Over the years I have had many color combination requests from people. One combination that has been quite popular, especially with African-American couples planning a wedding, is the color scheme of blue and gold. The shades of blue have varied from vibrant cobalt blue to royal blue to navy blue and lots of shades in between. Using blue for your wedding color will create a relaxing and peaceful mood for your wedding. This post will focus on the royal blue to navy blue shades and feature my royal blue and gold joined hearts jewel wedding invitation stationery designs.

I think anytime you incorporate gold into a wedding that you are going for an upscale, elegant type of look. I don’t see metallics going out of style anytime soon, either. I think the types of metals will come and go, changing from silver one year, to rose gold the next, and to gold leaf the next, just as the type of metal used on wedding rings changes over time. There are also so many ways to incorporate gold into your decor that achieving that eye-popping wow factor at your venue is very easy and affordable with the help of special lighting and glittery gold accents of confetti, ribbons, bows, streamers, balloons etc. Throw in some crystals to bounce around some more light and you’ll have a sparkling, glitzy looking venue fit for a King and Queen.

And speaking of King and Queen, royal blue is a great color to pair with the gold. There are thousands of shades of royal blue that you can choose from for the wedding party attire and decor ideas. I personally really like a wedding party that uses a variety of shades of royal blue in the bridesmaid dresses from lighter shades to darker. All the bridesmaids can find a shade that works best for them and the variety of shades will look much nicer in photos than they would if everyone was in the same shade of blue. instead of a mass of blue all the same color, your photos will have more contrast and detail. It also helps if you can be a bit more fluid with the shades of royal blue because you’ll soon find out that getting everything to match perfectly, just won’t happen when you choose royal blue as your wedding color.

I created the two different royal blue and gold wedding invitation designs as shown in this post. Both sets have simulated gold foil, a printed on ribbon and bow, and a printed diamond and faux glitter joined hearts jewel brooch. If you are familiar with my style at all, then these new designs are in keeping with my goal of giving you elegant looking printed invitations that give you the look of real embellishments but that won’t break the bank or leave you dealing with ribbons to tie or messy glitter. Just think of all the money you’ll save for the honeymoon!

Show-off those awesome engagement photos you had taken right on your wedding invitation! The royal blue and gold photo template wedding invitation design has an all over small floral pattern that has heart shaped leaves in it. If that’s not your thing but you still want to show off a great photo of the two of you, then the royal blue and gold photo save the date card is a nice choice to announce the upcoming nuptials and to give a preview of your royal blue and gold wedding theme. It can also be used as an engagement announcement.

The front of the non photo royal blue and gold floral wedding invitation design has the names of the bride and groom in an elegant cursive font in gold. Below the ribbon image on the front there is the popular verse “This day I will marry my best friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love”. That verse can be removed or changed to a Bible verse, special poem or quote that is important to you both.

The backs of either of these romantic royal blue and gold wedding invitations have an ornate scroll frame that surrounds your text. Depending on what wording you choose, there may be room to add on reception details and/or RSVP information which would cut down on enclosure cards, allowing you to possibly splurge on ice pearl paper and gold leaf envelopes which would look awesome. If you want an even nicer look, contact me about double thick ice pearl paper, belly bands, and/or envelope liners.

Pastel Succulent Wedding Invitation Set

Pastel succulent wedding invitation set
Pastel succulents wedding invitation set

When cacti and succulents started showing up on the wedding scene, I admit that the look didn’t really do much for me. As with everything, though, styles come and go and what I like at one time I dislike at another. Case in point: 90s bangs. Such is the case with succulent weddings.

Succulents are plants that have some parts that are thickened and fleshy, usually to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions. Succulents are often grown as ornamental plants because of their striking and unusual appearance. The habitats of these water preserving plants are often in areas with high temperatures and low rainfall, which make them perfect for use on a hot spring or summer wedding day. In horticultural use, the term succulent regularly excludes cacti but I’ll be including them here.

pastel succulent wedding bouquetRecently, I’ve been looking at the succulent wedding trend with new, appreciative eyes. Some of the most beautiful centerpieces and bouquets I’ve seen have consisted of succulents. There are just so many varieties of cacti and succulents to choose from too! You can even use them for double-duty purposes by having a single cactus act as a place setting and wedding favor all in one. Plus, with a variety of pretty flowering cacti on all your tables, you also have a lot of decorating done for you. The individual cactus or succulent can be planted in a small clay pot with sand and then topped off with decorative pea gravel. Then just stick a place card in amongst the stems or glue it onto a stick and plant it in the sand with the cactus for a unique look. Since these pots will require very little watering, these combination place card holder/wedding favors can be made well ahead of time and stored until the big day. Get the Bridesmaids together and go to town having a girls’ night while you whip these up.

I also love the versatility of using cacti and succulents for a wedding. The colors of the various plants can either be soft and romantic, or more vibrant. Some of the succulents, like the Stonecrops, Dudleya, Echeveria, and Aeonium have an almost dusty, pastel look to them which would be great for a spring or summer wedding using neutral shades of taupe, beige or tan with white, peach, sage green, blush pink, smoky plum, and lavender, like the wedding suite I’ve designed, or you can use brighter flowering cacti with bold yellow, pink, or orange flowers as found on Rebutia plants for a late summer or fall wedding. Begonias and Orchids are also succulents, so adding them to your tables by themselves or as part of a larger centerpiece would be stunning. For a really rustic look, hollow out the top of a log that will fit on each of your tables and then fill it with varieties of succulents, orchids, and some candles and really wow your guests with your ingenuity. These could also be made up well ahead of time and brought to your venue the day before the wedding. They would also be a beautiful take-home gift to someone from each table. Here is a link to a gallery of succulents for more inspiration: http://succulent-plant.com/thumbnails.html

Pastel succulents wedding bouquetMany wedding colors would work well with succulents and cacti. The deeper greens of an aloe plant, or the soft grayish green of some varieties of Agave would pair well with burgundy, aubergine, deep red, and deep purple tones. Coral, orange, yellow, and lots of shades of blue would also go nicely with succulents, as would a pink color palette. I’m actually hard-pressed to think of a color scheme that couldn’t be paired with some variety of succulent or cacti.

I also like the use of watercolor design elements with the succulent trend. I think it works very well, especially if you are wanting to have more subdued colors in all your wedding details.

Choosing to use succulents in your upcoming wedding would also work very well with one of the modern wedding trends of 2017: incorporating copper or rose gold metallics to your theme. Using copper edged glass lanterns or terrariums filled with succulents and candles would be an easy way to blend in some copper elements.

As you can see, I opted for a softer, more romantic looking wedding stationery suite for my succulents wedding design. It features a pale sandy peach background with a faux craft paper look and a bracket shape text area in white, with a peach color inner border. Along the top, there is a hanging garland of green, pink, and blue succulents. The bottom and back of the wedding invitation and other cards has groupings of succulents in shades of smoky plum purple, pink, coral, peach, green, lavender, and blue. I’ve used green and smoky blue font colors with modern typography layout that also features green arrows as decorative elements for added style.

Burlap Leaves Rustic Fall Wedding Invitation Set

Rustic Fall Wedding Invitation Set - Burlap, Leaves and wine ribbon
Rustic Autumn Burlap and Leaves Wedding Invitation Set

There are so many possible wedding themes to choose from that it’s hard to pick a favorite. Narrowing down the wedding date to a season can certainly help in your decision. In this post, I will be featuring a design for the autumn season – a rustic fall wedding invitation set.

Rustic weddings continue to be very popular and one of the easiest ways to get the rustic look is to incorporate burlap in your wedding stationery and decor. You won’t have to look very hard online to find everything you could possibly ever want to buy or DIY to create your perfect rustic fall wedding.

The obvious color choices for an autumn wedding include the rich fall colors of the changing leaves, like burnt orange, red, rust, gold, yellow, and brown. I chose a deep burgundy wine color for this rustic burlap wedding invitation and matching items because so many other fall colors pair so well with it. It is a great color for use with the wedding party attire, the centerpieces and bouquets, and the decor.

I created this rustic burlap and fall leaves wedding suite using a simulated brown burlap texture with a simulated aged paper overlay with burnt edges. The printed on wine colored ribbon takes all the fuss out of having to wrap and tie ribbons on yourself and it also allows you to have the look of embellished wedding invitations without the big price tag.

I added another printed on golden yellow twine bow and images of assorted dried leaves in rich fall colors of red, orange, gold, and rust.

The front of the burlap and leaves autumn wedding invitation has the popular verse “This day I will marry my best friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love” on it, but that can be changed to have a Bible verse or the names of the couple, or “Fall in Love”, or whatever you would like there. The back of the rustic fall wedding invitation has ample room to add on the reception details and RSVP info too, making this a very affordable design to use for your rustic autumn wedding. Use the money you save from buying extra wedding inserts to upgrade to felt paper for a lovely texture that works great with the burlap look!

Rustic Burlap Leaves Fall Photo Wedding InvitationJust in case you want to mail out a wedding stationery package with multiple enclosure cards, I created several different sized cards that you can use for RSVP, accommodations, directions etc. There are also matching address labels that you can use to dress up the envelopes with.

There are quite a few matching pieces in this rustic burlap wedding suite, including favor tags and stickers, thank you cards, place cards, escort cards, and menu. I’d be happy to add any other items you might need, as well.

I also posted a photo wedding invitation version in this rustic burlap and fall leaves design. With this version the engagement photo can be changed to your engagement photo.

Rustic Autumn Photo Wedding Invitation Maple Leaves Fall in Love

Rustic Autumn Maple Leaves Fall in Love Photo Wedding Invitation

Now that it’s summer, fall wedding planning is in full swing! Fall weddings are wonderful! I love the color and the decor. I just posted these rustic autumn maple leaves, burlap and wood plank “fall in love” photo wedding invitation designs. This rustic autumn photo wedding invitation design is perfect for a shabby chic, casual rustic or country fall wedding! This design would be a great choice for a wedding in a cottage, barn, farm, or a wedding outdoors.

This rustic autumn leaves photo wedding invitation design features a rustic wood plank or barn wood background with a weathered whitewash wood photo frame on the front. It also features a strip of simulated brown burlap behind the frame with brunt orange, gold and red autumn maple leaves and a cardboard heart with the words “fall in love”. The maple leaves and heart are “attached” in the design with a burnt orange bow. Completing the look on the front is your first names and engagement photo in the photo frame. Note, this is all a flat printed design. There are no actual 3D embellishments, but the design is made to appear 3D.

On the back of the invitation, your fall wedding details are displayed in a whimsical, modern calligraphy font.

Because the front of this “fall in love” wedding invitation design contains your photo and names only, it makes for an especially nice keepsake for your guests.

There are two color versions available with this fall maple leaves wedding invitation. One where the barn wood or rustic wood plank background is red and the other where the background is blue.
